1897 - on Fleming’s death, became Managing Director.

1902 - Organiser of a pre-coronation boxing, fencing, wrestling tournament on 14th June at the Albert Hall, proceeds from which went to the survivors of the Charge of the Light Brigade, 13 of whom were present. Bettinson was subsequently unsuccessfully sued for £1,000 by one of the tournament’s sponsors.
1919 – married Harriet S. Flint
1926 - died at 8, Fairfax Road, South Hampstead, on 24th December, aged 64.
