  • 1883 - was runner-up in the 6th one hundred yards amateur championship at Lambeth Baths, on 17th September.

  • 1883 – 19th September - captain -1890.

  • 1890 – 10th August – married Florence Mallett at St. Mary's Church, Sunbury.   

  • 1891 - co-founder (with John Fleming) of the National Sporting Club.

  • 1897 - on Fleming’s death, became Managing Director.

  • Member of the Pallingswick Cricket Club

  • 1902 - Organiser of a pre-coronation boxing, fencing, wrestling tournament on 14th June at the Albert Hall, proceeds from which went to the survivors of the Charge of the Light Brigade, 13 of whom were present. Bettinson was subsequently unsuccessfully sued for £1,000 by one of the tournament’s sponsors.

  • 1926 - died at 8, Fairfax Road, South Hampstead, on 24th December, aged 64.
